Fall into Fall.

I can’t believe how this month is getting aways from me so quickly! Last weekend I did the Made in Utica, Downtown Getdown. There was such a great turn out, even though the weather forecasted rain. I love seeing people come out to these events and help support local farmers and artisans. This past weekend was also my last weekend of selling jewelry, tote bags and hair accessories. Now it’s on to SMITTEN season!!! Don’t worry though, I’ll still have my Sockingtons to sell!

This weekend brings on The Harvest Festival in Sharon Springs!  I have all of my fingers and toes crossed that the Beekman Boys will take a stroll through the etsy village, see my Smittens and make them famous!!! Hey… a girl can dream, can’t she??

You’ve got to be Smitten me!?!

This past Saturday was the Clinton Arts & Music Festival. This has to be one of my favorite shows to do. It’s local, there is always music and of course the people are wonderful! It was a gorgeous day out to begin with. There were new people running it this year so I ended up with a primo spot, right next to the gazebo!  And what an awesome treat I was in for because Ryan Quinn, from The Voice (A Clinton native) was playing there before heading out to LA!!! He was just incredible to hear. After he played, a gospel group played who had everyone dancing. I had a lot of people that had remembered me from last years show as well as last years farmers market. One little boy came up to me and told me how he had gotten one of my Sockington Dinosaurs. He was really surprised to hear that I remembered him and what the name of his animal was, (Danny).

Last week, before the show, I was working on some new items. I restocked my tote bags, which was great because I sold 8 of them at the show.

I’ve also been working a lot on my wire wrapping. I have always loved to art of wire wrapping but never thought I could do it. Then along with the internet, came YouTube and I was hooked! I’m still working on new designs all the time. But I’ve got to give myself a little pat on the back for what I’ve accomplished being self taught. Here are a few newer items.

Can you even handle that it’s going to be September in a few days??? I’ve got a couple more shows at the farmers market with summer items, (Little girls dresses, bags and jewelry).

Then guess what time it is?? IT’S SMITTEN SEASON!!! I’ll still have my Sockingtons, but I just don’t have to room to carry all of my jewelry, hair accessories and clothing with me.So start thinking about Christmas presents as well as a present for yourself! And get into SMITTEN SPIRIT!!!

Tis the season!

As the summer winds down, the holiday craft shows start to pop up! Hard to believe that it’s only August and yet, pumpkin flavored everything is running rampant in the stores. “Pardon me sir, do you have any Pumpkin-poupon?” I have some of my biggest shows coming up and have been working my tail off to make sure that I have enough stock for them. Sockingtons have over come all the rooms in my house. I’ve made enough tote bags for everyone that shops at Chanatry’s. And you can’t forget everyone’s favorite, SMITTENS!!!
